Eric Thompson is one of the most dominant wrestlers in Grand View University's history. A 3-time NAIA National Champion (2012, 2013, 2014), Thompson compiled an extraordinary collegiate record of 105-7, including an undefeated 33-0 season in 2012. He was a 3-time NAIA All-American and earned the prestigious title of NAIA Wrestler of the Year in 2012. In addition to his national titles, Thompson's achievements include receiving the Gorriaran Award in 2014 for recording the most pins in the least amount of time in the heavyweight division. His success extended beyond college as he placed 5th in the 2016 Olympic Trials, marking him as one of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the country. Thompson's legacy is cemented as one of the best wrestlers in NAIA history. Thompson is now an assistant wrestling coach for Arizona State University.Â
