DES MOINES, IOWA - Grand View's women's wrestling team sent their seniors out in style on Wednesday night, dominating Missouri Baptist 33-15 in a dual that showcased both veteran leadership and emerging talent.
The Vikings claimed seven of ten matches, with Isabelle Apple at 103 pounds getting things started with a win by forfeit. Missouri Baptist picked up a fall at 110, but Grand View responded with four straight victories, including wins by forfeit from Cailin Campbell (117), Maya Davis (124), and Catie Campbell (131).
After Missouri Baptist grabbed wins at 138 and 145, the Vikings closed strong with three dominant performances. Nicole Olson crushed her opponent 10-0 via tech fall at 160 pounds in 3:45, and Kami Senlycki followed suit at 180 with an 11-0 tech fall in 4:30. Selena Mares capped the evening at 207 pounds with a forfeit victory.
The senior night celebration made the decisive team victory even sweeter for Grand View, who improved their record while honoring the contributions of their graduating wrestlers.
