INDIANOLA, IOWA — No. 2 ranked Grand View women's wrestling traveled near to kick off the 2024-2025 season. The Vikings opened their campaign at the Luther Hill Open, hosted by Simpson College. The Vikings saw two take-home first-place finishes in their respective brackets. No. 5 Catie Campbell was crowned in the 124-weight class, with freshman Bella Porcelli winning in the 207 Fresh/Soph bracket.

5^th-ranked Catie Campbell dominated the 124-pound bracket to secure a first-place finish. In the quarterfinal match, she showcased her skill with a swift victory by fall over Northern Michigan's Zhivanna Magdaleno in just 1 minute and 21 seconds. She continued her winning streak in the semifinal, defeating William Jewell's Emarie Bolosan with a decisive 12-2 tech fall. In the final, Campbell displayed complete control, securing her championship title with an 11-0 tech fall over Isla Baeza of Missouri Valley College, underscoring her impressive performance throughout the tournament.

At 207 pounds in the freshman/sophomore division, Bella Porcelli also secured a first-place finish for the Grand View women's wrestling team, contributing another 20 points to their overall score. Porcelli began her tournament journey with a decisive 10-0 tech fall victory over Cameron's Kayla Dorsey in the quarterfinals. She continued her dominant performance in the semifinals, defeating teammate Kelsey Harris with a 10-0 tech fall. Porcelli capped off her impressive showing by claiming the championship title with a 10-0 tech fall victory against Indiana Tech's Sophie Parker. Her strong performances throughout the tournament highlighted her dominance in the weight class.
