INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - The Grand View Women's Bowling team also traveled to Indianapolis, IN, to compete in the 56th Annual Hoosier Classic, which featured a strong field of 68 teams. This tournament, known for its competitive nature, is the final regular season event before the postseason begins.
The women finished 47th out of 68 teams.
Day 1 Recap
The women began competition at 5 PM, bowling five team games. Leading the way was senior Isabel Tetmeyer with an impressive 1,029 series, averaging 205.8. She was followed by freshman Kennady Bigwood (851/170.2 Ave.), senior Emilee Hall (834/167 Ave.), and junior Michelle Stewart (803/161 Ave.). Sophomore Madison Pickett, freshman Brianna Musgrave, and senior Ashly Wiegand also contributed, adding additional games and fill balls.
The team recorded a total of 4,243 pins, averaging 170 for the day, finishing 49th after Day 1.
Day 2 Recap
The women returned on Sunday for 15 Baker games and put up an impressive performance, rolling a 2,774 total for a 185 average. This brought their combined two-day total to 7,008 pins, averaging 176 overall, moving them up to 47th place.
Individually, senior Isabel Tetmeyer had a standout performance, finishing 28th out of 410 bowlers with an impressive 205.8 average.
UP NEXT
The coaches were extremely proud of the women's efforts, as they remained positive and fought hard until the final ball was thrown. The team now looks ahead to the Heart of America Conference Championships on Feb. 22-23 in Columbia, MO. The women are eager to embrace the new format and compete in head-to-head match play.
