FAYETTE, MISSOURI - The Vikings competed at the Heart of America Championships where the men placed 8th and the women placed 10th
Women's Highlights
The Grand View women finished 10th overall scoring 29 team points. The Viking's were led by Addisyn Terpstra, who took home the gold in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.99. On the field side of the event, the vikings were led by Mia Allmon who placed 8th in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.72m, respectively.
Men's Highlights
The Grand View men took home 8th place, scoring 54 points for the competition. Seven vikings took home a top 5 finish, including a 1st place finish for Blake Willey in the men's shot put. Blake put up an impressive mark of 17.30, besting the second place finisher by 0.27. To round out the throws we had Ryan Saddler who placed 4th in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.07.
Jayton Poole was able to come up with a 3rd place finish in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.96, and 5th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.76. Isaiah Roundtree followed close behind in the men's high jump finishing in 4th place with a mark of 1.91.
On the running side of the Heart Championship, Matthew Bonner was able to take 2nd place in the 3000m steeplechase with a finishing time of 9:51.28. Rounding out the Vikings score in the event was Mason Thompson's time of 14.78, which was good enough to earn him 4th place in the 110m hurdles.

Grand View athletes will make their final attempt to qualify for the national tournament at the Concordia University Twilight Meet next Friday, May 9th at 2:00pm.
