MARION, IN - The Grand view Vikings traveled to Indiana Wesleyan University this past week to compete in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Vikings had nine athletes compete and garnered 4 All-Americans in the process.
NATHAN WILDE ALL AMERICAN: Nate Wilde placed 7th overall in the men's hammer competition on day one of the meet. His furthest throw of the day came on his 2nd round where he threw a throw of 57.18 meters. This is his first career All-American title and 2nd national championship appearance.
MADISON GREEN ALL AMERICAN: Green placed 5th overall in the Hammer throw with a toss of 56.58 meters. This throw came in the first round of finals helping solidify her All-American Status. She also competed in the discus where she placed 27th overall with a throw of 41.02 meters.
BLAKE WILLEY ALL AMERICAN: Willey placed 8th place overall in the shot put with a massive PR of 17.04 meters in his second throw of the event. He was in 9th place heading into the final round of throws where he was able to throw a mark of 16.69 to win the tie breaker earning his second career All-American title.
NATHAN LIMAS ALL AMERICAN: Limas finished the 5k race walk in 8th place with a time of 22:54 which also betters Limas school record. This is Lima's 4th career All-American award in the racewalk.
Seth Diser: Diser finished 14th in the 5k Racewalk with a time of 26:21. He will end his career as a Viking with 3 All-American awards in the Racewalk.
Mason Thompson: Thompson competed in the 110 meter hurdles where he placed 24th overall with a time of 14.86. This was his first time qualifying for an outdoor national championship meet.
Addisyn Terpstra: Terpstra placed 21st overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.88. She will complete her freshman year with a pair of trips to the national championships.
Jayton Poole: Poole placed 19th in the high jump with a leap of 1.97 meters. This was Poole first time competing and a national championship meet.
Isaiah Roundtree: Roundtree would place 25th overall in the high jump with a jump of 1.97 meters. Roundtree would also complete his freshman season with a pair of trips to the national championships.
The men's team would place 54th overall with 4 total points while the women's team would place 46th overall with 4 points.
