The second day of competition opened with
Chantz Minear in the 110 hurdles where he qualified for the finals with the 7th best time of 14.19 also breaking the previous school record. Then we had
Carter Huyser and
Isaiah Wittrock take the track for the open 800. Huyser led the charge as he placed 13th with a time of 1:53.95 and Wittrock placed 23rd with a time of 1:56.47. Following that
Paige Thompson competed in the 5k racewalk where she was able to finish in 8th place with a time of 28:08.72 earning her the second All-American honor of her career. For the men
Nathan Limas placed 6th overall in the Men's 5k racewalk with a time of 24:06.01 helping him earn his 2nd All-American honor.
Seth Diser managed to finish in 9th place in the 5k racewalk with a time of 26:07. The men's 4x800 was the last running event for the Vikings on Thursday where we saw the squad of
Isaac Davis, Nick Thompson,
Isaiah Wittrock, and
Carter Huyser finish in 7th place with a time of 7:47.01. This earns Davis and Thompson their first All-American Honors. And Huyser picked up his 8th All-American to close out his great career as a Viking, while this is Wittrock's 12 All-American honor to close out his Grand View Career. At the field events
Niles Siefken took home 12th place in the discus with a throw of 48.31 meters.
