PELLA, IA: After weather knocked out the Vikings first meet of the year they came back and opened the season Good Friday weekend. The Vikings opened with a handful of national qualifiers and conference leading marks.
NATIONAL QUALIFERS:
Blake Willey Placed 3
rd in the shot put with a throw of 16.22 meters. This throw hit the A standard national qualifying mark.
Isaiah Roundtree placed 2
nd in the high jump with a leap of 2.05 meters. This jump hit the national qualifying mark sending him to the second national championship meet of his freshman season.
Madison Green hit A standard in a pair of events as she threw 44.88 meters in discus, while throwing 50.84 meters in the hammer throw.
CHAMPIONS:
Isaac took the 800-meter win with a time of 1:57.72
Green Picked up wins in the women's discus and hammer throw.
