OSKALOOSA, IOWA — This past weekend, the Viking Shotgunners participated in a three-day tournament at the William Penn Invite in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
On Friday afternoon, senior Cole Haynes delivered an outstanding performance at the Skeet shooting event, hitting a perfect 100 out of 100 targets to secure 1st place.
After a brief night and an early morning start, the Vikings tackled Day 2 with a challenging Sporting Clays event, featuring 100 targets spread across a scenic mile-long course with 14 tricky stations. Once again, Cole Haynes led the Vikings, hitting 88 out of 100 targets to finish in 13th place, just 7 targets shy of the top score.
Sunday's Day 3 event focused on Trap Shooting, with three Vikings posting scores in the 90s. Cole Haynes led the squad again, narrowly missing 3 targets to finish with an impressive 97 out of 100. Braeden Hirsch followed with a strong performance, hitting 93 out of 100, while MaKenna Six knocked down 91 of the 100 targets.
