OSKALOOSA, IOWA — This past weekend, the Viking Shotgunners participated in a three-day tournament at the William Penn Invite in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

On Friday afternoon, senior Cole Haynes delivered an outstanding performance at the Skeet shooting event, hitting a perfect 100 out of 100 targets to secure 1st place.

After a brief night and an early morning start, the Vikings tackled Day 2 with a challenging Sporting Clays event, featuring 100 targets spread across a scenic mile-long course with 14 tricky stations. Once again, Cole Haynes led the Vikings, hitting 88 out of 100 targets to finish in 13th place, just 7 targets shy of the top score.

Sunday's Day 3 event focused on Trap Shooting, with three Vikings posting scores in the 90s. Cole Haynes led the squad again, narrowly missing 3 targets to finish with an impressive 97 out of 100. Braeden Hirsch followed with a strong performance, hitting 93 out of 100, while MaKenna Six knocked down 91 of the 100 targets.

WORDS WITH MUNDY:
"Overall, I am very pleased with where we are as a team. It's still September, and I see great things in this team. It's been a tough week capped off by a tough 3-day tournament, and I couldn't be prouder of this Team. We continue to get better every time we compete, and I am really optimistic about this squad and where they are headed."
