WAUKEE, IOWA - The Grand View University Shooting Team had a strong showing this past weekend at the Iowa Collegiate Conference Championship, with several Vikings delivering impressive performances and earning podium finishes.
Senior Cole Haynes led the way, clinching the Super Sporting Conference Champion title after a competitive shoot-off. Haynes's skill and consistency over the two-day event earned him a 4th-place overall finish, adding to his list of achievements this season.
On the women's side, MaKenna Six also had an outstanding performance, securing a 3rd-place finish in Women's Skeet. Her solid performance throughout the competition ultimately earned her 4th place overall in the event standings.
Collectively, the team's efforts culminated in a 4th-place finish in the Iowa Collegiate Conference Championship, showcasing the depth and determination of the Grand View Shooting Team. This strong finish reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire squad as they continue to compete at a high level in the conference.
"We couldn't be prouder of how the team competed this weekend," said Head Coach Charlie Mundy. "Cole and MaKenna both showed incredible focus and resilience under pressure, and their podium finishes are a testament to their hard work. The entire team stepped up and supported each other, and finishing 4th in the conference was a great achievement for us. We're excited to keep building on this momentum as we head into the next competitions."
