WAUKEE, IOWA — Viktor's Clay Clash saw over 100 competitors from 9 colleges compete in this event. This four-event competition threw over 40,000 targets, which is a fantastic task all on its own and was made possible by some great help from the men's Volleyball Team.
Cole Haynes has been on a hot streak since his impressive performance at the William Penn competition, where he hit a perfect 100 out of 100 skeet targets. This week, at the Vikings' home shoot, he delivered another standout performance, breaking his own school record in Sporting Clays with an incredible 95 out of 100 targets. Cole was the team's top finisher, placing 4th overall with remarkable scores:
- Trap: 98/100
- Skeet: 90/100
- Sporting Clays: 95/100 (GV record)
- Super Sporting: 42/50
- Total: 325/350
Other Vikings who excelled by breaking over 300 targets include Braeden Hirsch with 307/350 and MaKenna Six with 302/350. Nik Whipkey, Cass Ruzicka, and Katie Shepherd also delivered strong performances, showcasing the depth of talent on the team.
WORDS WITH MUNDY:
"Grand View finished 6
th out of the 9 Teams represented here this weekend, and we continue to make great strides towards our Big Goals. I couldn't be happier with some of the performances this week, and I have total confidence that if this Team continues on this upward path and continues to put in the work like they have been doing, we should be within reach of what we started the season to do. Hard work works, and I am very confident in this Team.
This week will be another great challenge and measure as we head to the Midwest Conference Championships in Illinois to face some of the Top schools in the Country... SKOL VIKES!"
