DES MOINES, IA- The Vikings have 9 different athletes qualified to compete in the outdoor track and field national championships. Team heads out Sunday afternoon for a road trip to Marion, IN. Competition is slated to begin Wednesday morning.
Field Events:
Nathan Wilde kicks off competition with the men's hammer at 10:30 AM Wednesday, he currently ranked 9th with a top mark of 57.74.
Blake Willey will throw shot put on Friday at 3:00PM where he is currently ranked 11th with a throw of 16.66 meters.
Jayton Poole will compete in the high jump on Thursday at 4:30PM where he is ranked 31st after clearing 2.02 meters.
Isaiah Roundtree will also compete in the jump where he is ranked 17th with a leap of 2.05 meters.
Madison Green will throw both hammer and discus during the week where she comes in ranked 10th and 9th respectfully with he top marks. She competes at 3:30 Wednesday and 1:00 PM Friday.
Track Events:
Addisyn Terpstra will be the first track event fro the Vikings as she runs in the 100 meter hurdles at 2:00 Thursday. She is ranked 29th with a time of 14:42.
Mason Thompson will be next as he runs the 110 meter hurdles at 2:15. He is coming into the event ranked 25th with a time of 14.62.
Seth Diser will cap off his final outdoor nationals with the 5k racewalk at 5:15 Thursday Night. He is coming into the event ranked 9th with a time of 23:36.
Nathan Limas is also competing in the 5k racewalk where he is ranked 5th overall with a qualifying time of 22:59.
