Men's Track and Field

Men's and Women's Track & Field Finish Third in Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, IOWA -  The Vikings competed at the Cornell Invitational and came home with a pair of bronze finishes in the team standings. Grand View Men's finished with 124.5 team points and the Women's team had 116 points.
Women's Highlights

The Grand View women finished third overall, led by Anna Paul, who won the 100m (13.08) and took second in the 200m. Addisyn Terpstra also brought home a win in the 100m hurdles. Faith Neeley ran a personal best in the 800m to place second, and Liberty Leis added points in the 1500m.

In the sprints, Arina Tembo and Brynna Croy scored in both the 100m and 200m, while Christella Luyeye placed third in the 400m. The 4x100m relay team of Paul, Croy, Terpstra, and Tembo took second with a season-best 51.49, and the 4x400m relay also finished second.

In the field, Mia Allmon won the hammer throw and scored in discus and shot put. Carolyn Miller had a strong showing across all three throws, including a PR in discus. Avril Maughan placed third in the high jump, and Mickey Seely added points in javelin.

Men's Highlights

The Grand View men also claimed third place, highlighted by wins from Mason Thompson in the 110m hurdles, Jeovanni Heyes in the 400m hurdles, Isaiah Roundtree in the high jump, Jayton Poole in the long jump, and Blake Willey in the shot put with a PR of 17.35!

Poole also placed second in the high jump and scored in the 200m. Willey added top-five finishes in both the discus and hammer. Conrad Schoening and Elijah Alhussaini both hit PRs in the throws.

Fadi Mott was runner-up in the 400m, and Ardadi Adum scored in both the 200m and 400m before anchoring the second-place 4x400m relay with Heyes, Lewis, and Keller. The 'B' team took fifth.

Matthew Bonner placed second in the steeplechase and added points in the 800m. Keller also scored in the 800m with a season best, rounding out a deep and balanced team effort.

Grand View will compete at the Jim Duncan Invitational next Saturday, April 12th at Drake University.
