Newton, KS - The Grand View golf team took the course this week for their opening event in Kansas. The Vikings placed 5th with an overall score of 904 after 3 rounds.

Mike Evertsen led the Vikings with a tie for 3rd place shooting a total score of 217, just one over par. His best round came on his second trip around the course where he shot 2 under par. Logan Barns also picked up a top ten finish as he placed tied for 8th with a total score of 219. Jack Winkel was the third Viking to finish the course with a total score of 233, followed by Gabe Beardsley with a score of 235. And to close it out Harrison Froling had a score of 239 in the first event of the year. 

Evertsen's round was enough to put him on the all tournament team. 

The Vikings will be back on the course Monday the 11th at The Moore in Creston.
