LE MARS, IOWA – The Grand View Men's golf team competed at the NWIT College Am at Willow Creek Golf Course on the 15th and 16th of September. The NWIT College Am featured some of the top talent in the NAIA, including ten 2025 NAIA National Championship qualifiers, among those teams were the National Champion runner-up Oklahoma City University Stars. In the 14-team field, the Vikings finished in a tie for 10th place shooting scores of 288-283-287 for a +6 858 total.
The Vikings were led by senior Calvin McNeely who fired rounds of 69-70-69, for a total -5 208, securing solo twelfth place finish. McNeely made 12 birdies, and limited bogeys to only seven for the three rounds, helping him stay towards the top of the leaderboard. Harrison Froling shot a -4 67 in round two on Monday following his round of +5 76 earlier in the day. Froling launched up the leaderboard nearly 30 places after round two, moving from t-62 to t-33. Froling finished with rounds of 76-67-73 for a +3 216, finishing at t-39 for the tournament. Krish Gupta and Cade McGill both finished in the t-44 position shooting +5 218, followed by Jack Winkel finishing at +10 223, in the t-63 position.
The Vikings showed some spark, shooting -1 283 in round two, but costly bogeys and double bogeys pushed them out of the top half of the field in the final round. The Vikings pushed their way into 6th place in round three off the hot start of Krish Gupta, opening his round with three pars, two birdies, and an eagle. Gupta and the team sat in 6th place and three-under par after 47 holes of play, but fell back 9 shots on their closing holes, ultimately finishing in a tie for tenth place at six-over par total.
