Silvis, IL - The Vikings traveled east this week to square off against 15 other teams in the NAIA Midwest invitational. After two rounds through the PGA course the men's golf team ended up in 5th place while shooting +31 for the event.
Gabe Beardsley led the Vikings in the event with a 10th place finish with a total score of 147, his second round of golf was his best as he was able to finish one under par for the round. In his second round he was able to collect 5 total birdies to help lead to is -1 performance.
Mike Evertsen was next for the Vikings coming in at 12th overall with a score of 148, he was consistent throughout the event as both rounds were 74's. He was also able to collect a handful of birdies throughout the weekend with 6 total over both rounds.
Jack Winkel came in at 21st with a score of 151, followed by
Harrison Froling who placed 30th with a score of 153. And rounding out the event for the Vikings was
Logan Barnes with a total score of 158.
The Viking Golf team is back in action Friday September 29th at the Waldorf Invitational in Lake Mills, IA.
