WAUKEE, IA - Grand View hosted an open tournament this past weekend, which saw a total of 7 colleges competing for awards sponsored by the United States Army.
Grand View finished 5
th in the field after Indian Hills CC but had some great individual efforts that led to a few personal bests. The Top Gun Viking of the 2-day event was Freshman Will Hinrichs, breaking 270 targets out of 300. Sophomore
Braeden Hirsch broke another 268/300 and Junior
Cole Haynes shot a 267/300.
Viking Highlights of the Tournament
- Will Hinrichs perfect 50 of 50 in Skeet and a 49/50 in Sporting Clays.
- Haynes crushed the Trap targets both days, breaking 49 of 50 on Saturday and Sunday for a 98 out of 100 tally.

Braeden Hirsch broke 49 of 50 in Trap on day 2.
