Vikings Host their Open at New Pioneer Club Sponsored by the U.S. Army

WAUKEE, IA - Grand View hosted an open tournament this past weekend, which saw a total of 7 colleges competing for awards sponsored by the United States Army.

Grand View finished 5th in the field after Indian Hills CC but had some great individual efforts that led to a few personal bests. The Top Gun Viking of the 2-day event was Freshman Will Hinrichs, breaking 270 targets out of 300. Sophomore Braeden Hirsch broke another 268/300 and Junior Cole Haynes shot a 267/300.

Viking Highlights of the Tournament
- Will Hinrichs perfect 50 of 50 in Skeet and a 49/50 in Sporting Clays.
- Haynes crushed the Trap targets both days, breaking 49 of 50 on Saturday and Sunday for a 98 out of 100 tally.
- Braeden Hirsch broke 49 of 50 in Trap on day 2.
"We get better every time we compete. I am happy with the performance this past week and excited to see how our next outing will go, " said head coach Charlie Mundy
