WICHITA, KS - Grand View women's golf finished fifth out of seven teams at the Friends Fall Women's Invite over the weekend, posting a two-round total of +145 (+78-+67) that showed real improvement as the tournament went on.
The Vikings trimmed 11 shots off their score from the first round to the second, going from +78 to +67 as several golfers turned things around on day two. Park (MO) won the team title at +65.
Karina Panyavong was Grand View's most consistent golfer, tying for 12th at +25 (+12, +13) and pacing the Vikings in both rounds.
Abby Brooks turned in the tournament's best individual round for Grand View, following an opening +23 with a final-round +7 to climb into a tie for 19th at +30.
Alyxandrea Steil and
Michelle Naftzger each tied for 31st at +47, with Steil going +27, +20 and Naftzger going +19, +28.
Caelie Smith rounded out the Vikings' five-golfer lineup, finishing 34th at +51 (+24, +27).
