KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Tuesday that No. 1 ranked Grand View University has earned 12 qualifier spots at the 68
th annual NAIA National Championship, which will be held from March 6
th through the 8
th.
The 68th annual event kicks off on March 6th, with the first session beginning at 11:00 AM and the final session of the day at 6:00 PM. Competition resumes on March 7th at 11:00 AM, leading into the evening session at 6:00 PM, which features the semifinals and consolation rounds that determine All-American honors. The tournament concludes on March 8th, with the highly anticipated individual championship matches beginning at 7:00 PM.
The Vikings secured eleven automatic qualifiers, including No. 1
Aden Reeves (125), No. 3
Gabe Gonzales (125), No. 2
Jackson Cockrell (133), No. 1
Carson Taylor (141), No. 8
Elijah Larsen (149), No. 3
Cam Robinson (165), No. 4
Dylan Whitt (165), No. 1
Alex Reynolds (174),
Jameel Coles (184), No. 1 GK (197), and
Trayvonne Jackson (197).
Additionally, No. 1 Darani Heard earned one of the 35 at-large bids, marking his first national tournament appearance while representing the Vikings at 149 lbs.
In the 2024 tournament, the Vikings secured their 12th National Title, dominating the competition with 209.5 total team points, 12 All-Americans, and an overall record of 58-16.
Returning to the national stage are individual champions
Alex Reynolds (174 lbs.) and
Garavous Kouekabakilaho (197 lbs.), leading a strong Grand View lineup.
The Vikings also bring back five national qualifiers, including 125-pounder
Aden Reeves, who battled back to a 3rd-place finish last season after an early second-round upset.
Carson Taylor, a seasoned veteran, moves up to 141 lbs. after placing 3rd at Nationals at 133 lbs. last year.
Jackson Cockrell enters his second season as Grand View's lone 133-pounder, while
Dylan Whitt (157 lbs.) returns after an 8th-place finish.
Jameel Coles (184 lbs.), also in his second season, looks to build on last year's 7th-place performance.

With a mix of experienced contenders and talented newcomers, Grand View is poised for another strong showing at the National Championships.
Four schools will enter the national tournament with a full roster of 12 wrestlers: Cumberlands (Ky.), Grand View (Iowa), Southeastern (Fla.), and Life (Ga.). Close behind, Providence (Mont.), Indiana Tech, and Doane (Neb.) will each bring 11 wrestlers, while Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) and Southern Oregon will compete with 10 qualifiers.
Across the ten weight classes, a total of 280 wrestlers have earned the opportunity to compete for a national title and the chance to be crowned a champion in their respective divisions.
