BALDWIN CITY, KANSAS — The Grand View University competitive cheer team traveled to Kansas to participate in the Annual Heart of America Conference Championships inside the Collins Center. The Vikings finished their weekend placing third out of nine teams and collecting four Heart All-Conference Honors.
After the preliminary round, the Vikings sat at 82.08 points, sitting them in third, and by the final round, the Vikings remained in third place with a final score of 82.57. The Champion of this year's Heart Championship was Missouri Valley, who hit 90 in their final round, and in second was MidAmerica with 86.38.
The Heart also awarded its 2024 Heart Cheerleader of the Year award. Cheerleaders from across the conference submitted an All-Conference tryout video, which was judged by the official 2024 Heart Competitive Cheer Conference Championship judges.
The cheerleader with the highest score from the tryout, earned Heart Cheerleader of the Year. The scores also determined the 2024 Heart Competitive Cheer First Second and Honorable Mention All-Conference Team selections.
