DES MOINES, IOWA – The Grand View Women's Soccer team faced a tough 2-0 defeat last night against MidAmerica Nazarene University. Despite a slow start and being unable to generate offense in the first half, the Vikings' attack came alive in the second half, creating more scoring opportunities but ultimately falling short.
The first half was a defensive struggle, with MidAmerica Nazarene controlling much of the play. The Pioneers broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Thayline Teixeira scored, assisted by Emily Rawlins, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The Vikings' offense struggled to find rhythm early on, managing no shots on goal and limited offensive pressure.
After halftime, the Vikings increased their offensive efforts, and the game opened up. Grand View's attack looked more active, with players like Riley Pryor pushing forward and generating several chances. However, MidAmerica Nazarene added to their lead in the 61st minute when Tindra Jarl scored, assisted by Bella Leon, sealing their 2-0 victory. Despite the increased offensive pressure, the Vikings could not find the back of the net, and the game ended with the visitors securing the win.
