GV MSOC Stays Hot; 4-0 Win in Baldwin City, KS

BALDWIN CITY, KANSAS – The Grand View Men's Soccer team displayed their offensive firepower and disciplined defense in a convincing 4-0 victory over Baker University. The Vikings controlled much of the match, scoring early and maintaining pressure throughout to earn a valuable road win.
Grand View struck first in the 23rd minute with Justin Figaroa scoring an unassisted goal, giving the Vikings an early lead. Shortly after, at 38:24, Freddy Muniz-Garcia doubled the advantage with a well-placed finish assisted by Wilmont Manneh. Just before halftime, Felipe Augusto found the back of the net at 40:57, assisted by Figaroa, extending the Vikings' lead to 3-0.
In the second half, Herman Furumo added to the scoring in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal, sealing the 4-0 win. The Vikings showcased a balanced attack with four shots on goal, while their defense remained organized and effective, limiting Baker's offensive opportunities.
Goalkeeper Luis Helm was exceptional, recording three key saves to maintain the clean sheet and secure their second conference win of the season. Baker's defense tried to contain the Vikings' attack, but Grand View's relentless offensive pressure proved too much. The match was physical, with a total of 17 fouls and seven yellow cards, reflecting the competitive nature of the game. Overall, the Vikings' combination of offensive efficiency and defensive resilience was the key to their dominant performance on the road.
