INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - The Grand View Men's Bowling team traveled to Indianapolis, IN, to compete in the 56th Annual Hoosier Classic, their final pre-season tournament. This prestigious event featured a competitive field of 78 teams and is known for having a waiting list of programs eager to participate. The tournament utilizes two different sport patterns, which are not designed to be extremely difficult.
The men finished 70th out of 78 teams.
Day 1 Recap
The men began competition at 7 AM, bowling five team games. Leading the team for the day was junior Xander Pickett with an 876 series, averaging 176. He was followed by senior Justin Graves (867/174 Ave.), junior Andru Wilder (842/169 Ave.), and freshman Sam Kock (802/161 Ave.). Junior Jonathan Featherston contributed three games, totaling 544 for a 181 average, while junior Kory Ludden bowled two games, recording a 330/165 average. Junior Ethan Simpson and freshman Gabe Methum also participated by throwing fill balls.
The men combined for a team total of 4,261 pins, averaging 171 for the day, placing them 72nd at the end of Day 1.
Day 2 Recap
On the second day, the men bowled 15 Baker games, rolling a total of 2,530 pins for a 169 average. This brought their combined two-day total to 6,791 pins, averaging 170 overall and moving them up to a final placement of 70th.

Despite the tough competition, the men gained valuable experience, and the coaching staff was proud of how they worked as a team, staying engaged and fighting until the end.

Next up for the men is the Heart of America Conference Championships on Feb. 22-23 in Columbia, MO. The team is excited for the new format and the opportunity to compete head-to-head.
