Box Score 2 SIOUX CITY/SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – Grand View men's volleyball made the trip to northwest Iowa for a pair of Heart of America matches. The Vikings kicked off the weekend on Friday with a dominant sweep over Morningside University, winning 25-21, 25-22, and 25-19. On Saturday, Grand View faced Dordt in a thrilling five-set battle that ended in the Vikings' favor. After taking the first two sets 25-16, 25-17, the match intensified, but Grand View held strong, clinching victory with narrow set scores of 29-27 and 19-17.
Grand View men's volleyball turned in two strong performances over the weekend, highlighted by impressive individual contributions. In their sweep of Morningside University,
Daniel Galili led the charge with 13 kills on 30 attempts, hitting .267 and contributing 17 points. Lucas Alves Leandro was equally impactful, finishing with 10 kills on 14 attempts and an outstanding .571 hitting percentage, adding 16 points to the victory.
Ryan Griffel also made a significant impact, posting 12 kills with a .391 hitting percentage and adding 14 points.
Rafael Obrusnik, though limited in attack attempts, made his presence felt defensively with three blocks and four digs. Grand View executed well offensively as a team, tallying 39 kills on 94 attempts while also playing strong defense with 34 digs and 16 blocks.
In a thrilling five-set win over Dordt the following day, several Vikings once again stepped up.
Ryan Griffel led the offense with 21 kills on 43 attempts, hitting .302 and contributing 24 points. Lucas Alves Leandro was a standout, registering 19 kills with an incredible .773 hitting percentage, adding 23 points to the team's total.
Daniel Galili continued his strong play, recording 15 kills on 41 attempts, hitting .220, and contributing 22.5 points.
Rafael Obrusnik, despite some offensive struggles, was solid on defense, contributing four blocks and five digs. The Vikings finished the match with 65 kills on 129 attempts, hitting .341, and played solid defense, totaling 36 digs and 16 blocks to secure the hard-fought win.
