Women’s Soccer Concludes Season with 1-0 Loss at William Penn

OSKALOOSA, IOWA – In their final game of the season, the Grand View Women's Soccer team battled hard but fell 1-0 to William Penn University. Despite their determined effort, the Vikings were unable to find the back of the net against a strong William Penn defense.

The game remained tightly contested throughout, with William Penn scoring the lone goal in the 66th minute when India Foger finished a shot assisted by Lilly Cote. Grand View created limited offensive opportunities, registering only four shots in the match, with two on goal. The Vikings' defense and goalkeeper Maya Fritz kept the team in the game, with Fritz making six saves.

Grand View's players showed resilience and fought until the final whistle, but the ball couldn't find its way past the Penn goalkeeper. The team committed seven fouls and earned two yellow cards.

This game marked the conclusion of the season, and the Vikings will look to build on their experiences and prepare for the future. Although results were challenging at times, the team displayed effort and determination throughout the season.
