PARKVILLE, MISSOURI – The Grand View Men's Soccer team traveled to Park University and battled hard but ultimately fell 2-1 in a closely contested game. Despite a spirited effort, the Vikings couldn't overcome the early deficit and came up just short against a strong home side.
Park opened the scoring early in the 7th minute when Jacksyn McIntyre found the net, assisted by Pedro Beserra, giving the Pirates an early 1-0 lead. The Vikings responded in the second half, with
Herman Furumo scoring the only goal for the team in the 58th minute, assisted by
Pietro Piacenza and
Cuba Bak Sorensen, leveling the game at 1-1. However, Park regained the lead in the 72nd minute when McIntyre struck again, assisted by Diego Silva, putting the Pirates ahead 2-1.
Grand View pressed forward in search of an equalizer but was unable to find the back of the net again. The team created 16 shots, with 8 on goal, and fought valiantly until the final whistle. Park's defense and goalkeeper made key saves to keep the Vikings at bay, with both sides exchanging fouls and maintaining a competitive intensity throughout.
