DES MOINES, IOWA – The Grand View Women's Soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a hard-fought 1-1 tie against William Woods University in a thrilling home match. The game was marked by spirited play and a strong offensive effort from the Vikings, especially in the second half.
The match remained scoreless through much of the first half, with both teams playing tightly and creating few clear chances. William Woods broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when Tess Roberts scored, assisted by Macie Parmer, giving the Owls a 1-0 lead. Grand View responded with resilience, and in the 86th minute, Riley Pryor scored her first goal of the season to level the score in the final minutes.
Grand View's offense was active throughout, with Riley Pryor leading the team with four shots on goal out of a total of five attempts.
Ginevra Spinelli also contributed with one shot on goal. The Vikings pressed hard in the closing moments but were unable to find a winner, resulting in a hard-fought, well-earned draw.
The game was also a special celebration for the team's seniors, who were honored immediately after the match. The effort and determination on Senior Day highlighted the team's unity and competitive spirit against the Owls.
