CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Grand View women's wrestling kicked off the 2025 National Duals in dominant fashion on Friday, securing a commanding 37-9 victory over 13th-ranked Doane University. The Vikings carried their momentum into the quarterfinals, where they battled their way to a hard-fought 33-11 win over 7th-seeded Indiana Tech, claiming victory in 7 out of 10 bouts to close out a successful opening day to secure their semifinal spot.
OPENING ROUND
The Grand View women's wrestling team opened the 2025 National Duals with a dominant 37-9 victory over 13th-ranked Doane University. The Vikings showcased their depth and skill, securing wins in eight of the ten matches.
Judy Sandoval (103 lbs),
Lita Cruz (110 lbs), and
Mayangelie Colon (117 lbs) all recorded falls, while
Maya Davis (124 lbs) and
Cindy Zepeda (131 lbs) delivered technical falls.
Abby McIntyre (180 lbs) and
Bella Porcelli (207 lbs) added to the impressive performance with quick pins, including Porcelli's match-ending fall in just 17 seconds. Grand View's commanding start set the tone for their campaign at the tournament.

QUARTERFINALS
In their quarterfinal match at the 2025 National Duals, the Grand View women's wrestling team secured a decisive 33-11 victory over 7th-seeded Indiana Tech, winning seven of ten bouts.
Judy Sandoval (103 lbs) opened the dual with a pin in 3:23, while
Cailin Campbell (117 lbs) and
Abby McIntyre (180 lbs) added technical falls to the scoreboard.
Maya Davis (131 lbs),
Cindy Zepeda (138 lbs), and
Madison Diaz (160 lbs) each contributed falls, with Diaz's coming in just 42 seconds.
Olivia Brown (207 lbs) sealed the team's strong performance with a 3-0 decision to propel Grand View into the semifinals.
