DES MOINES, IOWA - Grand View women's soccer hosted their first conference game of the season on Saturday against the 6th ranked team in NAIA, Central Methodist University (CMU). The Eagles took the first conference outing in a 3-0 victory.
The Vikings scored an early goal in minute 3:00 of action, finding the back of the net. Despite the fast start, Maya Fritz and company held everything still for the rest of the half. Fritz had five saves going into the break, keeping the game within reach for the time being.
The second half started with another quick strike from the Eagles in the 47th minute. Trailing 2-0, the Vikings looked to battle back but couldn't get anything started on the opposing side of the pitch. The Eagles kept their offensive pressure throughout the game, accumulating 16 shots on goal, and found their third goal of the contest in the later stages of play. The Vikings suffered their first conference loss of the season.

Grand View will travel down to Cedar Rapids this coming week to face the Mustangs of Mount Mercy. The Vikings look to bounce back and get their first conference win of the season. The game will be played at 5:00 pm this Wednesday.
