Ferguson worked his way to a title by recording a TF win over Daylen Jackson of Graceland University, two straight tech-falls over Loyd Epperson of Ottawa U, and Moses Torres from Oklahoma City. In the semifinals, Ferguson pulled off a decision win over University of Nebraska-Lincoln wrestler Scott Robertson by a 4-3 decision. The 149-pounder won a thriller over Easton Hilton of Missouri in SV-1 8-7 to earn his title. Jameel Cole, the recent Viking transfer, won his first title in a Grand View singlet; he earned his title with a tech fall, a pin, and two major decisions, with his title coming with a 4-2 decision over Ethan DeLeon of Nebraska.
