The Vikings Bats Were Firing, Combined for 26 Runs

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKE WALES, FL- The Vikings bounced back from a pair of low scoring games on Thursday afternoon with a big offensive output tallying 26 total runs. The Vikings would take control of both games early and would never allow the Royals to get any momentum offensively. Grand View wins both games with scores of 15-1 and 11-0.

GAME 1: Jessica Walljasper would help the Vikings on both sides of the game as she picked up her 5th win of the year while tossing 5 strikeouts and only giving up 3 hits through 3.2 innings. She would also help out with the bats as she opened up the game with a Solo homerun in the top of the 2nd inning. Walljasper wouldn't stop there as she would get ahold of another ball later in the 3rd inning sending her second ball out of the stadium, this time for a grand Slam. That would cap off a 9 run 3rd inning where Gillian Overturf, Olivia Kyes, Allyx Lee, and Emma Kottlowski would all have RBI singles in the inning. Chloe Kottlowski would also pick up an RBI thanks to a walk. Gracey Hagle would end the scoring for the Vikings in the 4th inning as she stole home off of a wild pitch. Grand View would end the game early in the 5th inning as they collected 12 hits and only allowed 1 run in a 15-1 game.

GAME 2: Madi Huisman would pick up her 4th win of the season after throwing 4 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts. Mackenzie Meister would get the offense rolling as she laid down a bunt to third base that helped score the first run of the game. Chloe Kottlowski was able to single shortly after and advanced to 2nd on the throw helping drive in 2 more runs. Kylie Merical singled as well in the 2nd inning and was able to advance all the way to third off of a throwing error in by the infield and scoring another run. The 4th inning saw Kyes triple into right field bringing in 2 more runs. Kyes wouldn't be on base long before she scored on a passed ball. Just like in game one the Vikings were able to end the game early as they tacked on three more runs in the top of the 5th with Makenna Adkins doubling down the left field line to score one run, before Hagle would single to center field scoring the last two runs of the game. Grand View completes the sweep over Warner University with a 11-0 win.
