Addison Halstead followed with a clean seventh inning, recording another strikeout to close the game.
As the final out settled into a glove, the scoreboard may have marked the end of the season, but it could not define what this Grand View team accomplished. From the first pitch of the fall to the final inning in Oklahoma City, the Vikings battled with heart, toughness, and belief in one another. They faced nationally ranked opponents, overcame adversity, and continued to compete with pride every single game. This senior class leaves behind a foundation built on resilience and leadership, while the returning Vikings carry valuable experience into the future. Though the season ended sooner than Grand View hoped, the fight, growth, and memories created throughout the year will continue to shape the program moving forward. The Vikings walked off the field Wednesday afternoon with heads held high, knowing they represented Grand View softball with passion until the very last out.
Coach Lou A.Yacinich reflects on the 2025-2026 season: "The 2025-2026 softball team exemplified Grand View softball. They created a "no drama" caring atmosphere, strong work ethic, and a belief in doing hard things well. They continue to be productive citizens with quality critical thinking skills."
Senior Chloe Kottlowski also reflects on the 2025-2026 season: " I had so much fun playing my last year with this group of girls. I am so proud of how far we came this season and how we stayed true to ourselves. I will forever be grateful for choosing to play softball at Grand View."
