DES MOINES, IOWA – Grand View welcomed the only other ranked opponent in the Heart into Sisam Arena Friday evening. In the second dual of the week, the top-ranked team in the country would dominate early and throughout, picking up a win over 14
th-ranked Missouri Valley, 39-6, closing out their week 2-0.
Grand View earned six quick points at the start of the dual as Missouri left 125 open, resulting in a win for recently top-ranked

Carson Taylor saw his first dual action for the Vikings since the road dual versus Benedictine in early December. Taylor would control his match over No. 15, getting in his shots, resulting in a 10-3 decision win. With a 9-0 lead,
Tony Mendoza would take the mat at 141; a takedown in the 2
nd period would give Mendoza the advantage. Mendoza would work No. 25 Arrey to his back, nearly pinning him on his way to a 19-5 major decision.
Cole Ferguson brought his best to the mat Friday evening; Ferguson got his shots in early and ended things quickly with a pin firing up the crowd.
Sam Kallem would be the fan favorite, earning his first victory following an injury. Kallem would pin Crowley after getting him on his back in the first period.
Justin McCunn would earn back points early as he worked himself to a tech fall win over Gutierrez, keeping MoVal off the board.
Alex Reynolds fell at 174, bringing the score to 30-6. A slow match between
Caleb Swalla and No. 23 Drake Tipton would see the two in a draw, but Swalla would win by a 2-1 decision after racking up over a minute of riding time. 3

Owen Braungardt put up a hard-fought battle while weighing heavy on top, earning two stall points as he picked up a 3-0 decision win over 9th-ranked Hynes.
Trayvonne Jackson took a shot early on Joseph, earning a takedown to pick up an early first-period lead. Just as Joseph got Jackson in a challenging position, Jackson worked his way out of it, recording another takedown and winning by a 10-4 decision. The Vikings picked up another win on the week, defeating Missouri Valley 39-6.

The top-ranked team will have a busy week ahead; a squad will hit the road to Dubuque, IA, to compete in the Loras Open this weekend. Looking ahead to next week, the Vikings will divide and conquer duals next week. Grand View will face off with their yearly test versus 7th ranked in the NCAA DII the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney, in Kearney at 7:00 p.m., as well as the Statesmen of William Penn in Oskaloosa at 7:00 p.m.
