Des Moines, IA - The Vikings offense shined tonight as they found the back of the net 4 times Wednesday night. They picked up their first win of the year in a 4-0 match against the Mount Mercy Mustangs.
How It Happened-
The Vikings defense shined in the early parts of the match before
Izzy Dammen would find the back of the net off of a slick pass from
Vanessa Perez-Sandoval in the 24th minute. The Vikings would have several other opportunities in the first half as they totaled 9 shots before the teams headed for the benches.
And the Viking offense came out hot after halftime with a pair of goals coming in the 62nd and 63rd minutes of the match. Perez-Sandoval would pick up her own goal before Dammen would collect her second of the night thanks to an assist from
Josi Lonneman. Lonneman would get in on the scoring action as well as she found the net in the 71st minute of action after slicing through the midfield. To cap off the match the defense would stand tall and stop multiple last minute runs from the mustangs to maintain the clean sheet and a 4-0 victory.
