PARKVILLE, MO -  An early goal by Vanessa Perez-Sandoval would be accompanied by the Vikings defense holding the Park University Pirate scoreless for 90 minutes, resulting in Grand View's first conference road-win of the season, 1-0. 

How It Happened- 
A blink-and-you'll-miss-it goal from Vanessa Perez-Sandoval would come in the early goings of the first full offensive possession for the Vikings. Sandoval would solo to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Izzy Dammen would follow it up with three consecutive looks, that wouldn't fall for the hot foot following her two-goal run in the last match. Gracie Bernard would lose out the 1st half of play with a shot on goal, but the score would remain 1-0 heading into halftime. 

The Viking's defense would be anchored by freshman keeper, Maya Fritz, Fritz would record 8 total saves. The Vikings would have their final shots in the contest recorded in the 60th minute, and would not follow it up, yet keeping the Pirates off the board for a 1-0 victory.

• Vikings would be outshot by the Pirates, yet Fritz would record a high 8 saves.
• The last time the Vikings played in Parkville (2021) they came out victorious, 1-0.

The Vikings will return to Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines this weekend as they will take on the Vikings of Missouri Valley for a battle, the game is a part of the homecoming festivites and will kick-off at 6:30.
