DES MOINES, IA – Grand View men's soccer returned home for a non-conference match-up against the Trojans of Hannibal LaGrange. The Vikings kept their striking coming as they racked up 5 goals on the Trojans, and corralled them into a shutout winning 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Vikings would keep hot on their feet as they opened up with an early minute goal from
Lucas Newhard supported by
Rune Petersen. Newhard also opened the last contest with the first goal.
The teams second goal would follow in an impressive fashion off of a throw-in by
Samuel Londono to his teammate and 5th-year
Lucas Gutierrez in the 22nd minute.
The Viking's would get another goal in the 40th minute by
Robin Vandewalle off of a handball committed by the Trojans, assisted by
Konrad McKeown for the Vikings. The fifth and final goal would come from Javi Perez-Ruiz assisted by
Jayce Berger for his first goal of the season.
The Vikings would corral the Trojans into the midfield for a majority of the contest, giving the another shutout win 5-0.
