Des Moines, IA- Throughout the first 90 minutes of conference play the Vikings defense stepped up and helped lead the Vikings to another early season clean sheet. At the final horn the Vikings would pick up another tie, 0-0 with the Ravens.
How It Happened:
In the first half both teams struggled to get the ball past the midfield as their was only 5 total shots. 1 for the Vikings and 4 for the Ravens. The Vikings defense was able to come up big as they kept the Ravens off the score sheet after 5 corner kicks in the first half. The Vikings would put together a handful fo positive runs in the second half as they totaled 6 shots with 4 of them being on goal.
Izzy Dammen would lead the Vikings offensively as she lead the team with 3 shots. And
Maya Fritz would be the defensive leader for the Vikings as she saved all 6 shots on goal tonight and held the Raven's scoreless.
Vanessa Perez-Sandoval would pick up a yellow card in the last few moments of the game before the final whistle sounded signifying the 0-0 tie between the two teams.

Vikings are back in action Wednesday night as they welcome the Mustangs of Mount Mercy to Cownie Soccer Complex for their second conference game of the year. Kickoff is slated for 7:30PM.
