Des Moines, IA- Before the Vikings took the field Saturday night they took time to honor their Senior Class with their annual senior night festivities.
In the first half it was a defensive showdown until Morningside finally broke through and scored the first goal of the match in the 37th minute of the game. The rest of the first half would be uneventful as the teams headed for the sidelines to prepared for the final 45 minutes of game time. The Vikings would open up the second half of the game with a handful of runs that would lead to 7 second half shots. Including a soaring kick coming from
Vanessa Perez-Sandoval that just sailed over the goal. Morningside would come down the field a few minutes later adding on a second goal in the 71st minute. The mustangs would also pick up a yellow card in the last few minutes of the match before winning the match 2-0.
