FREMONT, NE – Grand View men's soccer took to the southbound road for their first road test of the season. The Vikings prevailed victorious over the Warriors of Midland University by a score of 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first goal of the contest would come from a familiar place for the Vikings as
Lucas Newhard would solo for the first goal of the contest and the first of his season. At the net, especially keeper,
Emiliano Laguna would do a great job once again to keep the opponent off the scoreboard. Laguna would account for 3 saves in the first half and the Viking's defense would keep them from a second shot-on-goal attempt in the second half.
The Viking's overall lead would be comforted by another familiar Viking in
Rune Petersen as he found the back of the net for the second time this season. The Vikings would go on to win the contest 2-0 against the Warriors.
OF NOTE:
- The Vikings opened up 2-0 against Non-Conference opponents.
- The Vikings outshoot the Warriors 14-9.
