Box Score Bellevue, NE - The Vikings opened up their first tournament berth since 2015 against the Bruins of Bellevue University. The Vikings and Bruins opened things up scoreless, but a pitching lull, would begin to open things up for the Vikings as they tacked the 7-0 win. 

How It Happened: The Vikings opened things up empty handed at bat against the Bruins with a couple of fly outs and a groundout. Drew Conn would start things out at the mound for the Vikings, also leaving the Bruins empty handed in the bottom of the first.

The first hit from the Vikings would result in a single from Drill; the first hit from both sides. Drill would be left on, followed by a tough inning at the mound for Conn resulting in 4 runs on 4 hits for the Bruins. 

Bruins would tack on another run in the bottom of the third. Leading 5 runs to none. In the top of the fourth, Brock Rinehart would grab another run for the Vikings but couldn't move him. 

The next three innings would be empty for both teams in terms of runs. Bellevue would close things out with a two-run bottom of the 8th off a 2 rbi single. Finishing things 7-0 in their favor. 
 
Box Score Notes: A tough game for the Vikings would only highlight two hits from Brock Rinehart, on 4 ABs. Nolan Drill would also tally the same stat line with 2 hits on 4 ABs. 
 
Up Next: The Vikings will have a chance for a bounce-back tomorrow at noon against Doane University. The Doane Tigers fell to Oklahoma City 5-2.
