CANTON, MISSOURI - Grand View traveled south to take on the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton College for their fourth road game of the season. The Vikings never trailed in the contest after a sluggish first quarter and would spark a 24-point third quarter to dominate the Wildcats, 56-39.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Vikings struggled offensively in the first quarter, as the Wildcats would have Grand View fans on the edge of their seats anticipating a tough match-up for the 23rd-ranked Vikings as they jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Grand View wouldn't receive their first points until just under the six-minute mark when
Cleao Murray, the day's leading scorer with 20, hit a jumper in the fast break. Five straight points by
Rachel Leerar cut CSC's lead to just three points as they headed into the second quarter 12-9.
The Vikings ceased their first lead of the contest a few minutes into the second quarter.
Katie Fogarty hit a jumper to send Grand View up by two. Back-to-back three-pointers for Murray in the fifth minute gave GVU their largest contest lead thus far at eight. Murray would hit a last-second jumper as time expired to send The Vikings up ten at the halfway break.
Murray came out on fire again in the third quarter, sparking Grand Views' momentum-taking quarter as she again connected on back-to-back triples.
Kaylyn Meyers cashed in a pair of free throws to comfort Grand View's lead to 22 points as they headed toward the homestretch.
Grand View would go on to score six points in the final quarter. Still, to their luck, the Wildcats would too struggle to score, only adding eleven points but cutting their deficit to 17 points as Grand View's dominant third quarter would eliminate a CSC comeback, moving the Vikings to 4-0 on the road with a score of 56-39.

Grand View will finish the first semester play with two home games this week. The Vikings will first turn their attention to William Penn this Wednesday as they prepare for the Statesmen - looking to redeem themselves at Sisam. The two teams will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
