DES MOINES, IA- Vikings returned to Cownie Soccer Complex for their final regular season home game.
How It Happened:
Grand View would get out to a quick start initiated by back-to-back corner kicks by the Vikings, both would come up empty-handed but would get the Vikings early momentum. The Statesmen would get a look at the goal but would capitalize either following the Vikings' early run. The Vikings' would get their first shot on goal in the 17th minute from
Jayden Cross, but the keeper for the Navy and Gold would be there for the cleanup. The Vikings and Statesmen would trade runs in the first half, but both would come up empty-handed.
The Vikings would put William Penn on their heels early in the second half of play. Three Vikings would get looks at the goal in just three different Vikings would see a chance by the 51st minute at the goal. A corner kick by
Gracie Bernard would lead to goal number four on the season for Perez-Sandoval, assisted by
Evelyn Hierzer in the 62nd minute. The Vikings would strike for the second time shortly after in the 67th minute. This time,
Sara Arias would get a ball from Maddie Morales for her first of the season. The Statesmen would have one more shot on goal the remainder of the 2nd half, and
Maya Fritz would hold them scoreless as the Vikings ran away with the victory in the second half, 2-0.

- Maya Fritz collected six saves to get back on track.
- Vikings were awarded eight corner kicks to the Statesmen's 3.
