Des Moines, IA- The Vikings hit the pitch tonight in hopes of picking up their second straight win in conference play. At the end of the 90 minutes the Vikings were on the winning side as they found the net three times to win the match 3-0.Â
How It Happened:Â
Jayce Berger started out the nights scoring with his 6th goal of the season in the 19th minute of play to give the Vikings a quick lead. He found the back of the net on a PK just outside of the box. Both teams would trade possession several times throughout the half but neither team was able to find much success as the teams headed for the break with the Vikings holding onto a 1-0 lead.Â
The second half would get off to a slow start as both teams would have some opportunities before Rune Peterson would find Berger for his second goal of the night in the 65th minute. Berger wouldn't be done scoring for the night as he would find the net a third time in the 83rd minute to complete the hat trick. Things would get a little chippy after his goal as a pair of players received yellow cards in the 83rd minute including
Jaren Obia. The Vikings would drop back and lock the wildcats down in the final few minutes of play as they secured a 3-0 victory on senior night.Â
