LAMONI, IA- The Vikings offense was the star of the show in a decisive team victory over the Yellowjackets in Lamoni, the Vikings took off early and went on to win the match 3-0.
How It Happened-
Jayden Cross would harvest a goal in the match's early goings; two different Vikings would strike the goal, but only Cross would come out with the reward in the sixth minute. Less than 20 minutes later into the contest,
Vanessa Perez-Sandoval would get a beautiful cross to
Gracie Bernard, and Bernard would further the Vikings lead over the Yellowjackets 2-0. In the first half of play, the Vikings would outshoot Graceland 8-1 and hold the Yellowjackets to just one on-goal attempt in both halves.
Perez-Sandoval would come out firing early after the half-break, hitting the post and allowing teammate
Delaney Barton to recover it for her own goal in the 55th minute. The Viking's defense would hold firm and keep Graceland off the board for the 90 minutes, resulting in a victory, 3-0.
OF NOTE
- Vikings would have ten total shots with six on goal.
- This 3-0 victory is the Viking's largest road win of the season thus far.
