Des Moines, IA - The Vikings offense came alive early in today's matchup with the Baker Wildcats propelling them to an impressive 3-1 win.
How It Happened:
The Vikings got the ball rolling quickly as
Vanessa Perez-Sandoval split through the defenders for the match's first goal in the 26th minute of play. The Vikings would keep the foot on the gas as Maddie Morales found
Anna Eide for a goal just before the end of the half in the 42nd minute. The Vikings would control the rest of the half as they headed for the sidelines with a 2-0 lead.
Baker would make things interesting early in the second half as they added on their own goal in the 64th minute. Things would also start getting chip as a Wildcat would pick up a yellow card in the 71st minute followed by a team yellow card given to the Vikings. Perez-Sandoval would also pick up a card in the 83rd minute. The Vikings wouldn't let all the cards bother them as Morales would add on an insurance goal in the 88th minute to help close out the game. 2 minutes later, the Vikings would close out the game with a 3-1 Victory.
