New Orleans, LA – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2021 NAIA Cross Country season. Representing Grand View was men's cross-country runner, Trevor Albert (SR/Eldon, IA).
Albert earned Midwest Region Athlete of the Year honors after having an outstanding senior season. The Viking who hails from Eldon, Iowa, has finished fifth or better in four of his five meets this season. That includes the individual title at the Heart of America Cross Country Championships in 24:50.6 and runner-up finishes at both the Grand View Invitational as well as the Seminole Valley Stampede.
Albert, along with his team, qualified for the 2021 NAIA Men's Cross-Country Championships in Vancouver, Washington. The championship is set for November 19th at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Championship Course starting at 10:30 a.m. For complete information on the championships, click here.
