Head coach Ventsi Stoimirov enters his tenth season as head coach for the Vikings. He was a member of the Bulgarian Junior National Team, and started six seasons for the Des Moines Menace, leading the team to two final four appearances. Stoimirov has extensive playing and coaching experience, earning his International FIFA/UEFA Coaching License. He also held a 50-4-2 record as the coach for the Iowa United Soccer Club, leading the team to five State Championships. In addition, Stoimirov has helped youth teams in Iowa win championships at prestigious tournaments all around the country including championships at the Snickers National Youth Challenge, WAGS, Surf Cup and Cornhusker Classic.
The founder of the Grand View Women's Soccer Team in 1998, Stoimirov has built a program that is known for its successes on and off the field. In 2003, Vikings rocketed to the top of the Midwest Collegiate Conference, earning their first MCC title. The 2003 and 2004 MCC Coach of the Year and 2003 Region Coach of the Year has coached 69 MCC All-Conference athletes, 3 MCC Players of the Year, 77 MCC Academic All-Conference athletes, 11 NAIA Academic All-Region athletes, one Region Player of the Year, 19 NAIA All-Region athletes, 12 NAIA Academic All-Americans, and 12 NAIA All-Americans.
Stoimirov graduated from Graceland College in 1995, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in business. He received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Iowa State University in 1998.
