Marcos Silva

Originally from Brazil, brings a strong background as both a player and a coach to the Vikings program. He has been in the United States for the past six years and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Sports Management here at Grand View University.

Silva is a proud alumnus of Brevard College (NC), where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching. As a standout student-athlete, he helped lead his team to back-to-back conference championships (2022–2023) and two NCAA National Tournament appearances. His exceptional performance was recognized with an All-Tournament Team honor during his senior season. Following his collegiate career, he continued competing at a high level, winning an NPSL conference title with the Iowa Demon Hawks (2024).

In his first year of coaching, Silva made an immediate impact at Graceland University, serving as Assistant Coach and Head Coach for the reserve program. He played a key role in achieving the program’s best winning percentage since 2009. The varsity squad posted a 7-5-5 overall record under the coaching staff’s leadership, while Silva’s work with the reserve team focused on player development and tactical growth.

At Grand View, Coach Silva will continue his emphasis on player development and team performance while leading the reserve program and supporting the varsity coaching staff. His passion for the game, combined with his international perspective and championship experience, brings valuable energy and insight to the Vikings soccer culture.
