Augie Gutierrez is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Vikings. A former Grand View player under Reid, Gutierrez was three-time team captain and guided the Vikings to three District 15 championships. He was voted to the All-District First Team four-times and was both a three-time All-Region and All-American selection. His professional playing career includes five years with the Des Moines Menace, one year with the Sioux City Breeze, and one year in Kansas City.

Gutierrez has coached many seasons of youth soccer in Central Iowa. In 2013, he started Next Level Soccer Training which is geared towards helping young players reach their maximum soccer potential.
