ROCKFORD, IL - The Grand View women's bowling team opened its season September 26 and 27 at the Hammer Golden Eagle Invite in Rockford, finishing eighth in a field of 14 teams.
Saturday featured five traditional games. Junior Kennady Bigwood led the way with a 923 series and a 184.6 average. Junior Chastyn Gering followed with an 875 and a 175 average, and junior Brianna Musgrave added an 832 and a 167 average. Bowling four games each, junior Bianca Fuquey rolled a 676 with a 167 average and senior Cora Ostrem added a 630 with a 159 average. Sophomore Annika Weber bowled two games, and freshmen August Moses and Morgan Wilson contributed fill balls. The Vikings combined for a 4230 over 25 games, a 169.2 team average, to sit eighth after day one.
On Sunday, Grand View rolled 16 Baker games for a 2707 set and a 168.9 average, with all eight bowlers contributing frames. The Vikings finished with a two day total of 6937 and a 169.1 average, holding onto eighth place.
In a field of 140 bowlers, Grand View placed three in the top 50. Bigwood finished 22nd, Gering 29th, and Musgrave 43rd.
